DOH-Marion provides COVID-19 update (Oct. 9)

OCALA, Fla.—Marion County is reporting 10,102 cumulative cases of COVID-19 as of this afternoon. This is an increase of 27 cases from yesterday (Oct.8). Of Marion COVID-19 tests from Oct.8, 2.32% were positive; the county’s cumulative positive test rate is 13.07%. The daily positivity rate for all new COVID-19 tests in Florida on Oct. 8 was 4.13%; the state’s cumulative positive test rate is 13.19%.

From COVID-19 cases reported Oct. 1 to 9, Marion saw an average of:

  • 36.4 new cases per day
  • 3 COVID-19 related deaths per day
  • 4.7% daily positivity rate

From cases reported Sept. 1 to 30, Marion saw an average of:

  • 42.6 new cases per day
  • 3.7 COVID-19 related deaths per day
  • 5.4% daily positivity rate
