DOH-Marion provides COVID-19 update (July 31)

OCALA, Fla.—Marion County is reporting 4,892 cumulative cases of COVID-19 as of this afternoon. This is an increase of 210 cases since yesterday (July 30). Of today’s cases, 55 are related to correctional facilities.

Of Marion COVID-19 tests from July 30, 15.3% were positive; the county’s cumulative positive test rate is 11.1%. The daily positivity rate for all new COVID-19 tests in Florida on July 30 was 10.57%; the state’s cumulative positive rate is 12.95%.

New COVID-19 related deaths

Four individuals have passed away after contracting COVID-19. These include a 52-year-old female, 78-year-old male, 84-year-old female, and an 89-year-old male. Each had underlying health conditions. A total of 60 individuals have now died after becoming ill with the virus. They range in age from 32 to 98.
