DOH-Marion provides COVID-19 update (July 22)

OCALA, Fla.—Marion County is reporting 2,826 cumulative cases of COVID-19 as of this afternoon. This is: 

  • An addition of 105 cases since yesterday (July 21)
  • An increase of 2,099 cases since July 1

Of Marion COVID-19 tests from July 20, 7.9% were positive. The daily positivity rate for all new COVID-19 tests in Florida on July 20 was 10.55%. Individuals who tested positive for the virus have ranged in age from 4 days old to 99 years old.

Two new COVID-19 related deaths

Two Marion County residents have passed away after contracting COVID-19, both with underlying health conditions:

  • 66-year-old male from Ocala
  • 72-year-old female from Ocala

A total of 35 individuals have died in Marion County after becoming ill with the virus. They range in age from 32 to 98.
