DOH-Marion provides COVID-19 update (June 9)

OCALA, Fla.—DOH-Marion is reporting 284 cumulative cases of COVID-19 as of this evening. The most recent individuals confirmed to have the virus are:

  • 61-year-old female from Summerfield
  • 73-year-old male from Summerfield
  • 75-year-old female from Ocala 

So far, 17,331 COVID-19 tests have been given in Marion County. Of those, 17,041 were negative. Individuals who tested positive for the virus have ranged in age from 6 months to 97 years old. Eight Marion County residents have died after becoming ill with COVID-19. Marion’s positive test rate is 1.6%; Florida’s positive test rate is 5.2%.
