DOH-Marion provides COVID-19 update (May 20)

OCALA, Fla.—Marion County is reporting 228 COVID-19 cases as of this afternoon. The most recent individuals confirmed to have the virus are:

  • 15-year-old male from Ocala
  • 38-year-old female from Ocala
  • 42-year-old male from Ocala
  • 46-year-old male from Dunnellon

So far, 8,541 COVID-19 tests have been given in Marion County. Of those, 8,310 were negative. Individuals who tested positive for the virus have ranged in age from 6 months to 97. Five Marion County residents have died after becoming ill with COVID-19. Marion’s positive test rate is 2.7%; Florida’s positive test rate is 6.1%.
