DOH-Marion provides COVID-19 update (May 9)

OCALA, Fla.—Marion County is reporting 210 COVID-19 cases as of 10 a.m. today. The most recent individuals confirmed to have the virus are:

  • 46-year-old male, Ocala
  • 66-year-old female, Dunnellon
  • 6-month-old female, Summerfield
  • 8-year-old male, Ocala
  • 43-year-old male, Ocala
  • 77-year-old female, Dunnellon
  • 80-year-old male, Ocala
  • 40-year-old female, Mississippi 

So far, 5,986 COVID-19 tests have been given in Marion County. Of those, 5,775 were negative. Individuals who tested positive for the virus have ranged in age from six months to 96. Five Marion County residents have died after becoming ill with COVID-19. Marion’s positive test rate is 3.5%; Florida’s positive test rate is 7.6%.
