DOH-Marion Hosts Event to Support Breastfeeding Families at Appleton Museum

The Florida Department of Health in Marion County (DOH-Marion) invites breastfeeding families in Marion County to attend the Mom and Baby Club Celebration of World Breastfeeding Week on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at:

Appleton Museum of Art
4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd.
Ocala, FL 34470

Learn about breastfeeding and community agencies that support breastfeeding families in Marion County. This event will feature activities and information presented by our community partners, including:

  • Breastfeeding education
  • Health education
  • Community resources
  • Activities for kids
  • Door prize drawings
  • And much more

Pre-registration is not required.

Breastmilk is a fundamental source of nourishment and helps create a powerful bond between mother and child. Breastmilk contains antibodies, enzymes, and essential nutrients, and supports a baby’s physical development. Breastmilk also protects a baby’s immune system and helps fight against infections and diseases.
