Ocala, Fla. — If you’re looking for family-oriented activity for this upcoming weekend that gets you out of the house and costs nothing, the BRAZEN team has an idea for you.

BRAZEN, the Florida Department of Health in Marion County’s risk-avoidance program, encourages families to join the team and its community partners for “Friday Night Done Right” in downtown Ocala.

“Friday Night Done Right” is a program offered by the Department and other nonprofits to provide families a fun, free and safe event that is designed to avoid poor outcomes associated with being involved with drugs, alcohol and other risky behavior.

DOH-Marion is collaborating with the Marion County Children’s Alliance and the Community Council Against Substance Abuse to host a showing of the film “Napoleon Dynamite.”

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at the Marion Theatre, 50 S. Magnolia Ave., Ocala.

Admission is free.

Guests are encouraged to reserve seats online. To do so, visit MarionTheatre.org.

The film is about a nerdy, socially awkward Idaho high schooler, Napoleon, who tries to help his friend, Pedro, get elected class president, while also dealing with some school bullies and his quirky family at home. The cable TV network Bravo ranks “Napoleon Dynamite” No. 14 on its list of 100 all-time best comedies.

For more information about the event, contact the Marion County Children’s Alliance at 352-483-5990.
