Wyomina Elementary Student Wins Dental Health Month Poster Contest

OCALA—Nyema Diaz of Wyomina Elementary School is the winner of the fourth annual National Children’s Dental Health Month Poster Contest organized by the Florida Department of Health in Marion County.
Second-grade students from eight classrooms across Marion County competed to design the best National Children’s Dental Health Month poster. Diaz took home a $50 gift card for winning the contest.
In addition to the overall winner, $25 prizes were awarded in seven subcategories:
Most Educational: Ruby Singletary of East Marion Elementary School
Best Monster: Vinicius Vilanova of Fessenden Elementary School
Most Colorful: Cayden Hall of Fort McCoy Elementary School
Best Mixed Media: Ryan Nieves of Saddlewood Elementary School
Best Use of Media: Lucas Perez of Ocala Springs Elementary School
Neatest Writing: Fernanda Velasquez of Reddick Elementary School
Most Persuasive: Serene Jabbar of Dr. N.H. Jones Elementary School
National Children's Dental Health Month promotes the benefits of good oral health to children, their caregivers, teachers and others. This year's campaign slogan "Defeat Monster Mouth" encourages children to maintain good oral health by brushing, flossing, rinsing, and eating healthy snacks.
