Residents can get tested for HIV for free on Thursday, Feb. 7

OCALA, Fla.—Residents have an opportunity to get tested for HIV for free at sites that may be  closer to them on Thursday. The Florida Department of Health in Marion County will provide free HIV testing at two community locations on Feb. 7, National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. To get tested, interested individuals should visit:

  • Estella Byrd Whitman Wellness and Community Resources Center (819 NW Seventh St., Ocala) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This site will host rapid testing, with participants receiving results in 15 minutes.
  • Ramah Missionary Baptist Church (10545 SE 58th Ave., Belleview) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants at this site will receive results in seven to 10 days. 

The department also provides free, rapid HIV testing Monday through Friday during normal business hours at its main office (1801 SE 32nd Ave., Ocala). For more information on HIV/AIDS testing, please call the department at 352-629-0137 or visit Marion.FloridaHealth.gov.
