Local residents will soon have a helping hand to lead them on the path to quitting tobacco in 2018. The Department of Health in Marion County is hosting “Tools to Quit” group meetings on Feb. 27 and Mar. 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. All classes will be held in the department’s auditorium at its Ocala location (1801 SE 32nd Ave.) and are sponsored by the Suwanee River Area Health Education Center.
The tobacco cessation classes will help residents learn how to quit their way and cover all forms of tobacco. Participants will benefit from free nicotine replacement patches, gum or lozenges if medically appropriate and the positive support of a group atmosphere. GROUP QUIT is the in-person option of Tobacco Free Florida’s Quit Your Way services.
